Introducing McLaurin & Piercy – American Weavers

For today’s design story, I wanted to share with you some exciting news in the design industry: the launch of McLaurin & Piercy, a new brand of weavers inspired by American heritage and craftsmanship.  Founders Clay McLaurin and Todd Piercy believe in producing textiles in a responsible fashion, right here on American soil and have made it their mission to honor the quality of local craftsmanship through their new collection of woven textiles.

The use of natural materials is their core value – the finest American wool, linen and cotton have been sourced for the fabrics and yarn is produced just a walk away from their design studio, at their twisting mill in Los Angeles.

The McLaurin & Piercy Mill in Los Angeles

“Our story began in 2013 when Todd and I founded Clay McLaurin Studio and shortly thereafter purchased our mill. While I am rooted in design and art, Todd has overseen sales and business development for some of the most iconic luxury brands in both fashion and the interior design industry. The adventure of establishing McLaurin & Piercy is born out of our shared commitment to creating a brand that is honest, authentic, inspiring and American. Launching McLaurin & Piercy solidifies everything we’ve been working towards with our shared strengths and allows us to really explore what it means to be an American weaver, both conceptually and as a business model”, says McLaurin.

“In the interior design space, there are few U.S.-based makers of traditionally designed and woven luxury textiles. McLaurin & Piercy is in a unique position to shift that focus, by placing craftsmanship at a premium. We believe that how textiles are made matters. To ensure the highest levels of creativity and quality. Our design studio is located on the same Los Angeles block as our mill.So when we’re not watching the looms, we’re working a few steps away. There’s value in that”, continues Piercy.

McLaurin & Piercy’s united offering includes the beloved prints and wall coverings from Clay McLaurin Studio along with new woven patterns and performance, indoor outdoor weaves. The new collection is now available in top showrooms around the world: Thomas Lavin in Los Angeles, and Laguna; Studio Four NYC in New York City;  Ainsworth Noah in Atlanta; Holly Hunt in Chicago; Charles Spada in Boston; JAMES Showroom in Dallas and Houston; De Sousa Hughes in San Francisco ; Jerry Pair in Hollywood, Florida; Deb Design Source in Scottsdale, Arizona; Evans & Sheldon in Washington, DC; Ashcraft in Australia; George Spence Designs in London; and Y&Co in Toronto.
