Dear friends, Happy October! I hope you’re having a sweet and productive start to the new season! If you’re looking for some design inspiration or would love a calming and educational way to spend a few hours on a chilly, rainy afternoon, then I’ve got just the thing for you. I’ve been very busy behind the scenes with both upholstery and design projects, and I look forward to to sharing them with you at some point, but for now I wanted to talk to you about a recent Create Academy course I’ve just finished taking, a course I think many of you will enjoy!

Veere Grenney – the legendary London-based decorator has partnered with Create Academy to teach a most inspiring design class – Veere Grenney – A Life in Design. Upon finishing the lessons I am thrilled with all that I’ve learned and compelled to share my thoughts on this course with you.

Through 7 hours of instruction, 40 lessons and a downloadable workbook, we get to visit Veere Grenney at home in the Suffolk countryside as well as in Tangier, Morocco and partake in the wisdom of a lifetime successfully spent in the design industry. Through intimate vignettes of Veere Grenney’s world we get to see, hear and get immersed into a universe of timeless design, beautiful architectural details and a deeply rooted appreciation for English decoration. His home in Tangier in particular, is the culmination of his career, and the most personal expression of his views on beauty; where architecture, interiors and gardens come together to create a three dimensional canvas for living well and living authentically.

I have been a longtime admirer of Veere Grenney’s work, but by far my most favorite room featured in this class is his study and library in Tangier. A masterclass in form, function and efficiency in decorating. If you’d like a closer look, the link to the class can be found here. Enjoy!
