This Week’s Finds

Hello, friends! How’s your weekend going so far? I hope you’re enjoying some lovely weather (wherever you are) and having some relaxing times outdoors. I think there’s nothing more restorative after a stressful week then being outside, if only for an hour or two. We’re blessed to live in a small town surrounded by woods, rivers and wetlands, and there’s no shortage of outdoor activities on beautiful days like the ones we’ve been having lately. Since we didn’t take any interesting trips, I’ve been spending happy moments in the garden, checking things off of my fall to-dos list. I replanted some of our hydrangea shrubs and cleaned out a couple of flower beds that were getting out of control. And I did it all with only minor scratches and injuries. (Our climbing roses have thorns sharp enough to perform minor surgeries, if needed.)

Anyway, the weather has been slowly doing what it’s supposed to be doing where we live – that is cooling off and dressing up trees in shades of copper, caramel and gold. (I’ll try to snap some pictures on my morning run to show you!) In the meantime, here are this week’s finds: some pillows, some plants and bulbs, some cozy wool throws and scented candles, and a few other odd bits thrown in the mix. Hope you see something you like!

A lovely Penny Morrison pillow:

A cozy wool throw:

Some of my favorite scented candles

One last book by the great Julia Reed, Dispatches from the Gilded Age, edited posthumously by Everett Bexley:

I’m having a crush on this beautiful chocolate brown + pink fabric and love seeing it available as a double-sided pillow…

Lisa Fine Textiles Pillow:

Tulip Bulbs

Peony Duchesse de Nemours:

Peony Vivid Rose

A favorite Robert Kime fabric as pillow cover:

P.S. Still trying to get posts out earlier in the day, but obviously it’s not really working so far…

You’re inspiring me to get going on spring bulbs!

Thanks for the tips. I love the fall, especially for cleaning up the garden and preparing to plant a few new things. If only I could grow peonies in So. California!
    Enjoy your week.
