Time for a Change

Update: Our Café Design blogging schedule will continue as usual. Thank you so much for your kind words and support!

Writing this blog for five years has been an incredible journey, one that has brought me much joy in the process. I treasure each and every one of you as readers and am grateful beyond measure for your showing up here weekly, and for leaving the kindest messages a blogger can wish for. Thank you! But for some time now I’ve been feeling a tangible need to help and do more. There are many ways my family and I do that in our private lives, but professionally I have yet to create my own little universe. After studying interior design in San Francisco and writing this blog for so long, I’ve received many requests along the way from friends, family and blog readers seeking decorating advice and I did my best to take on those projects that felt “right”.

The Cape Cod Style Home – my very first blog post

While my daughter was younger, time has always been a constraint for me. (That, and figuring out the proper framework for running a small business. ) But she’s older now, and more independent, and I found myself once again with time to pursue other things I am passionate about, outside of parenthood, and to figure out the best way I can offer my services to those of you who may need/want it. Decorating is the only thing I love and know how to do so here it goes….

If you need help decorating your home, or you’d like a friendly opinion and a fresh pair of eyes on a decorating dilemma, I’ll be happy to help. Starting today Café Design is offering a new service called e-design (or long-distance decorating), which simply means that we can work together decorating your home regardless of your location. I’ve added a detailed description of the process here.

E-Design | Ways I can help:

  • Creating customized floor plans, functional furniture layouts and lighting plans
  • Pulling together color schemes and fabrics
  • Sourcing furniture pieces, antiques and one-of-a-kind pieces for your home
  • Assembling detailed shopping lists, budgets, instructions for managing the project on your own etc.

Throughout the process we’ll communicate mostly by email and we’ll discuss your decorating needs in great detail. At the end of the design period you’ll receive from me a set of detailed plans, ready for your approval, with two rounds of tweaks on the house. Once finalized, I’ll hand over the plans to you and you’ll be in charge of the fun part – implementing the ideas at your own pace.

In the beginning I will only be taking on a limited number of projects so it is very important that we are a good match. The good news is that if you’ve been reading this blog for some time, and you’ve (hopefully) enjoyed it, then you know my aesthetic and we’re probably a good fit 🙂 So…

… if you’d like to work together decorating your home, you can email me at cafedesignhome@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you with more details about the whole process. Happy decorating!
