Throw pillows are like a fabulous pair of shoes – you can’t have too many and they dress up even the blandest of outfits, or sofas. One of the easiest ways to refresh your decor is to switch out your throw pillows with the seasons, or when the mood strikes. This is not breaking news, I know, but having an abundant stash of timeless prints and coordinating solids to choose from will allow you to experience your home in new and exciting ways without having to break the bank. And who doesn’t want that?
So for today’s post I thought we could all go pillow-shopping on Etsy and visit with some fabulous sellers and their offerings. My slight addiction to pillows in pretty prints will be apparent in a minute, so bear with me. Lately I’ve been having a moment with middle eastern patterns – kilims, embroidered suzanis, and ikats – but of course, my love for Indian palampores and block prints remains just as strong and Etsy is a great place to find all.
Two of my favorite designers and masters of the art of covering a sofa with the prettiest pillows are Kathryn Ireland and Robert Kime. They share a love of far-flung textiles sourced from around the globe and reinterpreted in fresh and beautiful ways.
Below is a roundup of some great Etsy pillow shops featuring everything from timeless designer textiles and patterns, to ethnic embroideries, wovens and tie-dyes. Some of these items I’ve either purchased over the years, have had in my cart lately, or plan on recommending the fabrics in my current projects. These Etsy shops have stellar recommendations and are guaranteed to create something beautiful for the home. Hope you find something you like!
