Hope everyone’s having a chilled week so far… Summer is slowly slipping away but not without a few enchanting book releases to tide us over to fall. Like many of you I’m sure, summer is the time I’m most drawn to coastal decor. Decorated for easy summer living, beach houses are among my favorite design inspirations year-round because the best of them feel fun, loose and uncontrived. There has been a string of coastal-inspired decorating books  that I love or have been meaning to add to my collection lately and I thought it would be fun to share my list with you. Maybe even get your thoughts on them? Some of these books I’ve purchased and greatly enjoyed while others are still out there for me to get.

After the tremendous success of Out East, Jennifer Ash Rudick enchants us with another book destined to become a decorating classic – Summer to Summer, Houses by the Sea.

Behind the Privets, Classic Hamptons Houses, by Stan Rumbough… I don’t have this one yet but it’s definitely going on my list.

Any decorating book inspired by the many architectural gems of Nantucket is a hit with me. Below are a couple of older ones I love by Leslie Linsley… Nantucket Island Living, Nantucket Cottages and Gardens.

The Bee Cottage Story by Frances Schultz remains a cherished favorite and a most hardworking coffee table book in our home.

Sea-Captains’ Houses and Rose-Covered Cottages is another book that’s definitely on my list this summer.

And now, a handful of books to be released this fall that I think we’re all super excited about:

1. A Home for All Seasons will be Atlanta tastemaker Danielle Rollins’ second book. We all loved seeing images of her home in Veranda magazine a few years ago so hopefully our curiosity will be stroked with new images as well as details and behind-the-scenes on the decorating process.

2. Around the same time, we’ll have even More Beautiful rooms to dream about and be inspired by. All designed by Mark D. Sikes, of course.

3. It was a wonderful surprise to find out about Markham Roberts’ second book, Notes on Decorating, scheduled for release in lest than two months. How’s this for a perfect trifecta?

Take care!

P.S: A big thank you to everyone who’s chimed in after Monday’s garden-inspired post. I feel like I’ve learned so much from your comments and I am grateful for your taking the time to share your opinions and advice.

Coastal Blues, Phoebe Howard is a lovely and inspirational book you may enjoy. I have just received Summer to Summer and give it a two thumbs up. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of MDS’s More Beautiful.
