Good morning, friends! I hope your weekend was a good one… The weather has been on the mend lately so we took a couple of walks on the nearby trails but, for the most part, we busied ourselves indoors and made good progress on our dining room renovation. (Pictures to follow.) Just to give you an idea, after installing French doors between the dining room and the kitchen, the decorating dominoes started to fall and we went on to add wainscoting on the lower part of the dining room walls (simple beaded paneling topped with pine nosing). We finished the construction phase this weekend and are now onto the fun stuff- caulking, sanding, priming and painting. I hope I’ll be able to share a prettier picture with you next week. In the meantime, here are last week’s finds: A cool book on English interiors (from medieval rooms to contemporary English country houses), a pretty wicker log basket, a mercury glass pendant that looks amazing in a variety of settings… But by far my favorite find this week is a new course offered by Create Academy –
Edward Bulmer’s Working with Color – A Guide to Pigments, Paints and Palettes – I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t benefit from this class!
Great English Interiors, by David Mlinaric and Derry Moore
For those of you who love a good sale, here’s a fun puffer jacket…
… and a whimsical woodland umbrella stand designed by Bunny Williams, pictured below. I have been including this stand in a couple of design projects lately and have ordered one for our hallway. Both the jacket and the umbrella stand are on sale right now.
Anyway, I hope you found something interesting in today’s post! Until next time… Take care!
That beaded paneling looks so good! I’m enjoying these progress shots. It’s inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
