June Blooms

Happy Wednesday, dear friends!  It’s been a while… I hope you’re doing well! It’s the end of the school year here in Western Massachusetts and we’ve been busier than ever with school functions, recitals, dance performances, field trips, bake sales and, sadly, goodbye parties. Life has been filled with activity and I’ve been trying very hard to keep my head above the water. For the last few days we’ve had the joy of dog-sitting a gentle (and incredibly needy for affection) golden doodle and his company has brightened up my days.

On the home front, we’re wrapping up a major home improvement project about which I’ll tell you more in a future post. With all the stuff that’s been going on, balls are being dropped left and right and my time on social media & the blog has been reduced to feelings of guilt. Guilt for not replying DMs on time, and for not being able to keep up with my blogging schedule and my Instagram friends and their posts and stories.

On the blog side of things, I’ll try to make up for my absence with some fun stories in the coming weeks but, in the meantime, I wanted to share with you snippets of life at home and in the garden. June blooms are among my favorite because they are a garden’s way of saying thank you for all that was invested in them – hard work, tears (yes, I’m an anxious gardener) and, of course, copious amounts of money. But the rewards, while they come in different shapes, sizes and colors, are almost always worth the effort. The purple spires of lupine, the big, floppy heads of peonies, the cheerful daisies and the fragrant salvia, and the elegant roses are only a few of the ways nature rewards our patience.

What’s blooming in your garden these days?

Your flowers are beautiful! Life gets hectic, especially with all the end of the school year events, but it’s a blessing to be able to be present for your people. My garden is bursting with hydrangeas and a budding bougainvillea. Your peonies are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Sheena! Glad you like the peonies, they are short lived but well loved in our flower beds.
And how wonderful that you can grow bougainvillea – your garden must look beautiful!
