Whether you’re redecorating a small corner in a room, or an entire home, I have found (the hard way) that a masterplan is essential to success. A clear big picture helps us stay on track and focused on the outcome. It also helps us avoid confusion when faced with the avalanche of colors, styles, and price points available. Good design is a series of good decisions and having someone with an objective point of view to share the process with can make all the difference. Long-distance decorating, or e-design, allows you to be your own project manager and phase projects over time, according to your timeline and budget.
So… What is E-Design?
E-Design is a consultation service that allows us to work together decorating your home, regardless of your location. It is a budget-friendly alternative to employing a full-time designer, at full-time designer fees.
Who is it for?
If you love decorating and enjoy the process of putting together a room but need an objective opinion on your selections, or help with a decorating dilemma, then e-design may be the perfect service for you. You’ll get all the help and guidance you need to implement the design on your own schedule, from the comfort of your home.
How does it work?
We communicate mostly through emails. You send me images and measurements of your space, inspiration to guide our efforts and we talk in detail about your decorating needs. At the end of the process you’ll receive a complete set of plans with everything you need to start implementing the ideas in your home. Depending on the scope of our work, you’ll receive a combination of the following: a to-scale floor plan and furniture layout for your space, a lighting plan, a proposed color scheme, a story board (great for visualizing how the distinct elements of the design will work together), a shopping list, and detailed instructions for managing the project on your own.
If you’re interested in working together, you can email me at cafedesignhome@gmail.com with a short description of your project and I’ll be happy to get back to you with all the details regarding the process. Looking forward to working with you!
