I’ve just finished reading Interiors Styled by Mieke ten Have, although devouring would be a more appropriate word, and I wanted to share with you just how much I enjoyed this book! Have you gotten your copy yet?

Coming from the world of magazine editorials, Mieke is the ultimate interior stylist, with a passion for interiors and a deep understanding of the principles of design. Her keen eye and attention to detail have made her a sought-after stylist for magazine photoshoots worldwide and with this book, we get a peak behind the curtains, and a glimpse inside her intriguing bag of tricks.

In Mieke’s world of interiors, beauty is not just a visual quality, but a feeling that can be cultivated – a byproduct of substance and personality. The magic of spaces lies in the ever-evolving layer of personal stories and objects we chose to decorate with. There is a choice, and the process is thoughtful, deliberate, and never-ending.

The book is a two-part masterclass in interior styling, focusing on Mieke’s philosophy of styling & processes, and it includes detailed discussions on color theories and pattern mixing. The second part of the book is as practical as it is inspirational and exemplifies these principles on Mieke’s own home, the Barn – her laboratory of styling ideas. Through stunning photographs by Frank Frances, we journey through time as the seasons progress, and we gather inspiration for ways to make our homes more joyful.

If you, like me, appreciate the comforts of a well-appointed (and beautifully styled) home, then you’ll absolutely adore this book
