A Note on Create Academy

Prompted by a dear reader’s question (Hi, Sheena!) I realized that, while I have reviewed a number of Create Academy courses on the blog, many of you are perhaps still not familiar with the platform, so I thought I’d give you a flavor of their amazing mission and course offerings. Create Academy is a learning platform focusing on arts, crafts, gardening, food and interior design. They launched in November 2019  with an online course by the British interior decorator Rita Konig, followed by a class on floristry with the lovely Willow Crossley. Since then, they’ve expanded their curriculum to include numerous interior design and styling courses, gardening and cooking classes, as well as arts and crafts – my favorite. If you love audiobooks and podcasts, this is, in many ways, an even better learning opportunity because you get to watch experts do the vey thing you’d like to get better at. In addition, each course comes with a free lesson you can sample before making up your mind, which I found very useful. (Bellow is a link to such a free sample taken from Rita Konig’s fantastic class – The Ultimate Guide to Interior Design.)

With Create Academy you get to learn new creative skills or improve on your existing ones. Aspiring designers, novice gardeners (like me) and experienced crafters alike will find valuable takeaways. You’ll be expertly guided and taught how to decorate your home, or paint furniture like Annie Sloan, make your own block-print fabric and wallpaper designs like Molly Mahon, or learn the art of modern upholstery with Micaela Sharp. You’ll be inspired to plant the most incredible container gardens, improve the health and quality of your soil with Bridget and Henrietta of The Land Gardeners, or design your flower beds with the help of Dan Pearson. And there’s much, much more to explore.

Create Academy: The Land Gardeners - A year of Cut Flowers

Every couple of months I like to reward myself with one of their wonderful courses and learning from some of UK’s best artists, crafters, designers and gardeners has been a joyful and inspiring journey for me. Exquisitely photographed and packed with invaluable information, each course can be purchased separately and comes with a lifetime access to several hours of video instruction and class notes. You can learn in the comfort of your home, at your own pace, and design your own curriculum. Does it get any better than that?

Hi Eva! Thanks so much for your thorough explanation. I wondered about the access period and the purchase options, so your post helps a lot. I had no idea they offered a lesson for each class – that’s so good to know. Your enthusiasm for CA has definitely sparked my interest, and when I purchase, I will definitely use the offer code. Thanks again!
